Instagram users can now comment on friends stories

Instagram has introduced new feature where Instagram users can now comment on friends stories, you can now leave comments on Stories. Previously, engagement with Stories was confined to private messaging, but now, comments are visible to everyone who views the Story. It’s like commenting on regular Instagram posts, but for Stories.
“Emily Norfolk” from Instagram told the Verge that users have control over who can comment. “You can choose if you want comments on your Story or not,” she explained.
Only people who follow each other can leave comments. The person who posts the Story can turn comments on or off. Comments will disappear after 24 hours, just like the Stories. You’ll see small pictures of people who have commented at the bottom of a Story icon.
If you don’t see the comment icon, it’s possible that user has disabled story comments, or at least disabled for users who they don’t follow. By default, the feature only lets people comment when they follow you. You can adjust these settings for yourself from Instagram’s in-app settings:
Go to your profile, tap the hamburger menu icon, then head to Settings and activity > Comments. Under “Story Comments,” you can choose Everyone, which allows comments from all user; People you follow, the default; or Off, which disables the feature entirely.
Instagram is always trying to find new ways for people to use its app. Stories are very popular and many people use them more than regular posts, Said by Instagram head “Adam Mosseri“. This new comment feature might make Stories even more fun to use.
